Leadership

Our governing board of directors focuses on strategic planning, financial and organizational sustainability, and the future focus of the League. The management team consists of the League vice presidents which develop and implement our annual plan. There are four councils within the JLA: administrative, community projects, fund development, and membership. Each council is divided into committees that help carry out the mission of the JLA.
The leadership of the Junior League of Alexandria (JLA) is spread among the board of directors, management team, and council committees.

President's message

On behalf of our membership, a diversely growing powerhouse of women, I extend my warmest welcome!

It is my great honor to serve as the President of The Junior League of Alexandria for the 2022-2024 League years.

I often tell people I am so passionate about Central Louisiana because I was born, raised, and educated all here in Alexandria. This is my home and it has been good to me. The Junior League of Alexandria has become a place I call home that helps me channel my love for our community into the areas that matter most to me and so many other women in Cenla.

We were founded in 1941 and have grounded strong roots planted by the women who came before us and we are leaving a legacy for women to continue long after us. We just celebrated 80 years as The Junior League of Alexandria. Eight decades of women meeting the needs of our community while empowering one another to be the woman and leader she was meant to be.

While we have reflected on our history we are navigating new ways to engage our members, serve our community, and continue developing strong female leaders.

This year we will be Lighting the Way Forward! While we are coming out of unknown times that kept us home and away from others we are committed to bringing light and joy to our community and each other.
